Quarcepus (Kuarusepusu)

Quarcepus are large Leviathans that inhabit Mountainous and Desert regions of the Old World; feeding on a mix of ore and smaller animals. As juveniles, they spend their time living and hunting in water, but become fully terrestrial as they mature. They are normally passive creatures that keep to themselves, but are ferocious when provoked. Quarcepus' bodies are covered in crystals. These crystals can be flung off and may explode after a short time after being dislodged. The creatures abilities are dependent on the atmospheric conditions: the crystals on its body can absorb either energy from the sun to concentrate into Solar Beams, or lightning from storms to electrically charge itself and fire off bolts of electricity.

Quarcepus was first introduced in Monster Hunter Frontier: Forward 4.0.
